DAY 7

Concept MATTIE’ Within our concept we got to kinds of games. The first one is meant for wheelchair users and the second one is used for elderly who are who can walk with or without support and for instant elderly with dementia. When we watched the elderly people play on the mat we discovered that a lot of elderly people need support while playing on the mat. So we decided to make a frame for Matti and add this to our concept. The frame is use-able in two ways. As a support for elderly who want something to hold on to. In the other wat you can use it as a table for people who can’t walk at all so they can use it with their hands. You can also make the bars higher or lower or move them to the left and the right so everybody can have the perfect frame. Game 1 (for wheelchair users) For game 1 the frame is set up as a table and can be played by 4 people at each side of the mat. DAY 4

Today we finally could do a user test at the elderly home. We prepared a few things to use as a prove of principles to test with the elderly people. At first we wanted them to just experience the mat and start of real easy to make them feel comfortable on the mat and slowly test their limits. At first it took a long time to find the colours and understanding was also a little bit hard, but after a few minutes and trying and encouragement it when really smoothly After the test we interviewed everyone 1 on 1, so we had a better change to really get to know someone. We asked them about their psychical state but also their mental wellbeing. The last thing on our list was asking a professional about the way they do things in an elderly home.

DAY 2

Today our goal was to make rough concept. Yesterday we focussed on creating a vision of what we think the day of a person from an elderly home looks like. So what things do they do, so like how long is someone with other people or how many times a week does someone do something with sports or do they do sport at all. Besides that we thought about the restrictions of those people what are the things they can’t do or are the negative things about being a old person in an elderly home.
